Erica Donovan is visual artist based in London who enjoys working across many disciplines, communicating ideas, problem solving and producing works for site-specific locations.
She has a background is in graphic design, illustration and printmaking and uses these mediums to communicate thoughtful and intelligent ideas both through commissioned works as well as self-initiated works.
Her primary specialism is in screen-printing which she uses to create both 2D and 3D works. This physical print process embraces the use of simple, bold colours and she uses this highly skilled technique to produce multiple-layered works which have an honest and clear visual language.
She is passionate about process and relishes in finding innovative, exciting materials to work with and new contemporary ways of making things. The notion of having clear, accessible and approachable yet playful works is a fundamental part of her practice and her work more often than not concludes with a seemingly simple execution from a more complex and thoughtful concept.
